Non-Profit Association: Membership Services Rep/CSR

We are a professional health & wellness association seeking a full-time Membership Retention Representatives to service inbound calls in our Evanston call center.
The CSR/Member Services Representative will handle an average of 85 inbound calls per day. However, our CSRs are not simply answering questions and solving problems in the typical call center environment. This is not an order-taking, script-reading position. This is a communication-focused, rapport-building position that requires an outgoing personality and the ability to retain our membership as well as up-sell membership benefits and services. Having a natural ability to adapt to circumstances and take initiative is essential. Moreover, you must evince a cordial and professional manner in all communications with our diverse membership base.
We desire candidates who have worked in an inbound/outbound call environment for at least 2 years. Associates degree required. Those with a solid background working in trade show/conference sales/services, association membership recruitment and relationship building, or call center sales/customer service desired. We also prefer that the candidate prove him/herself on the job as a contractor for several weeks till we both know we’re a good match.
This is a salaried position with full benefits. Offices within easy walking distance from CTA, Metra, and PACE buses.
