Chicago Wilderness-Communications Coordinator

The primary role of the communication coordinator is to support the Chicago Wilderness public and member communication programs.
Bachelors Degree in Communications, Marketing or other related field or equivalent combination of training and/or experience required. One year of administrative, clerical or communications related experience required, preferably in a non-profit environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) required. Excellent listening and written communications skills. Attention to detail required. Valid driver’s license required for Illinois and out-of-state residents within 30 days of hire. Ability and willingness to travel to meetings and events within the CW region (southeastern Wisconsin, northeastern Illinois, and northwestern Indiana). Must be persistent and helpful, able to deal with emergent issues, multiple projects, and individuals simultaneously. Ability to work in a team environment and interact comfortably with individuals at all levels of responsibility within the Chicago Wilderness membership. Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor required. Ability and willingness to project, at all times, a favorable image of CW and its membership. Strong knowledge of, interest or an appreciation for biodiversity conservation and natural resource management issues is highly desirable. Spanish fluency a plus.
