Illinois Renaissance Faire: August 25-26; Queens, Knights, and Turkey Legs
The clash of steel, melody of the lute, buzz of the bazaar, and smell of juicy roasted turkey legs will greet visitors to the Illinois Renaissance Faire this year at Ellsworth Park in Danville, IL on the weekend of August 25-26.
There will be performances from Kojokan Shinbutai Samurai Exhibition Team, new to the faire, showing off their acrobatic skills and swordsmanship. The Knights of Valour World Grand Champion Jousting Team will bring their highly trained horses and knights in shining armor to compete for the queen’s favor, and the Royal Chessmen will present a living chess game with audience participation. In addition, magicians, pirates, artisanal crafts, music and dance, storytellers, and more will greet visitors to the historical village re-created in a beautiful wooded setting along the North Fork of the Vermillion River.
The faire will be open Saturday, August 25 from 11 am to 7 pm and August 26 from 11 am to 6 pm at Ellsworth Park, 10 Oakwood Ave, Danville, IL. General Admission is $10; Seniors (60 and over) $8; Juniors (6-12 years) $6; Children (5 years and under) are Free; and Active Duty and Veterans with Military ID enter for Free.
