Interns Needed for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois
Chicago, IL • 08/31/2007
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois chapter has granted wishes to more than 7,000 children since it began, and plans to fulfill the wishes of 625 more in 2007.
Primary Objectives of the Internship Program
• To create a meaningful learning experience for college students from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
• To establish a balance between administrative duties and experiential learning.
• To provide an educational experience that will enrich the human spirit.
• To allow room for both personal and professional growth.
• To create a lasting connection between the mission of MAW and the intern’s future experiences.
Internships for class credit are available. Interns are required to work a minimum of 15-20 hours a week. If students are required to complete more hours for course credit, this may be negotiated. Interns must have satisfactory work performance and meet all criteria set forth by their school in order to receive class credit.
Unpaid and non-credit internships are also available for students seeking work experience. Interns are required to work a minimum of 15-20 hours a week; additional hours negotiable.
Internship Positions
Internships are available in all three departments of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois: Central Services, Program Services, and Development\Fundraising. Potential interns do not necessarily need to have prior experience in a field, but should consider how this internship would further future career and educational goals
